As a Windows Technician in the technique team at Ovako IT you will be part of an evolving company where you will have the opportunity to shape the work ahead, along with your experienced, committed and agreeable colleagues.

The global IT Department works with infrastructure, technology, support, administration and development of IT and telephony.
We are found in the Ovako locations of Smedjebacken, Boxholm, Hällefors, Hofors and Imatra. In addition to the five largest Ovako factory units, the IT Department also supports sales companies and small manufacturing units globally.
The technology group within the IT Department is organized in global teams assigned to specific IT technology environments. Ovako’s IT environment consists primarily of about 400 Windows servers and 2,500 PC clients distributed across a global office network and several local production-critical process networks.
IT staff work constantly with consolidation, virtualization and standardization of the IT environment in order to free up resources. Our strategic development platform is Microsoft.Net.

Job description

As an IT Technician with Ovako, you will work mainly towards our data center in Hofors, but as needed also across location lines in a technology group that together ensures that Ovako’s IT platform is managed and developed.
You will have daily contact with customers and are expected to work operationally with Ovako’s IT infrastructure environment, with focus on server products from Microsoft, HPE, VMWARE and Symantec, which are the main suppliers of Ovako’s IT infrastructure.
You are also expected to participate in scheduled on-call-duty work.


Qualifications

To be successful in this position, you should have a relevant university degree or work experience in IT. It is a plus if you also have experience with products from Ovako’s standard suppliers.
We are looking for an outgoing individual with good communication skills, as the job tasks involve frequent interaction within the global IT Department as well as users and suppliers.
We work in teams, where you will be expected to share your experience and learn from that of others. You must also be structured, creative and decisive with strong ability to complete tasks. You must be fluent in English, written and spoken, and have a Class B driver’s license.

Location

Optional location in the vicinity of Hofors, Hällefors, Örebro, Hallstahammar, Smedjebacken, Boxholm or Imatra.
