Ovako AB is offering Swedish students the opportunity to carry out their Master of Science thesis in the areas of production technology, materials research or advanced application development with part of the thesis carried out in Japan.

Ovako develop high-tech steel solutions for, and in cooperation with, its customers in the bearing, transport and manufacturing industries. One of our latest innovations is the revolutionary new steel family, Hybrid Steel®, that challenges all traditional steel categorizations. Our production is based on recycled scrap and has a world-leading carbon footprint, 80 % lower than the global average. We have around 3,000 employees in more than 30 countries. In June 2018 we became a subsidiary within the Japanese Nippon Steel Corporation group, the third-largest steel producer in the world with more than 100,000 employees globally. As part of your masters thesis you will be based at Nippon Steel’s Bar & Wire research center in Futtsu, close to Tokyo.
