Our company and industry are evolving and therefore we are looking to recruit a new Strategic Account Manager that will be working with one of our largest customers in Europe with a presence all around the globe.  

This is a key role within Ovako and a unique opportunity to join a company with a long history and great ambitions for the future, being in the forefront within sustainable steel, serving a broad range of industries and advanced applications.  

What you will do 

As Ovakos next Strategic Account Manager you will be dedicated to one of our strategic key customers and have the overall responsibility for developing this customer, to generate continued revenue and ensure the customer remains satisfied and engaged with Ovako.  

You will be part of a motivated sales team and report to Jonas Osberg, VP- Head of Group Offering & Key Accounts and member of the extended management team at Ovako. The role can be based either in Sweden or Germany.  

Main objectives include;  

  • Develop, implement and lead the strategy for your assigned account 
  • Understand needs and objectives and proactively work to provide solutions that are aligned with Ovakos offering and values  
  • Together with technical support, product line managers at the mills, R&D etc work to resolve customer queries and resolve issues. 
  • Negotiate terms, price and set-up agreements 
  • Collaborate with sales teams to generate growth of the account 
  • Monitor sales performance metrics and prepare sales forecasts 
  • Answer RFIs and RFQs from the customer 
  • Strengthening relationship by local presence at the customer site 

 

What you bring 

You will be leading an internal core team with members across the organization therefore teamwork and stakeholder management is an important part of the role. A thorough understanding of Ovako´s products, processes and organization will be vital to support the customer and to develop the account. Communication and collaborations skills and ability to build relationships will be key to your success. Other important traits are results driven, business acumen, problem solving, project management and analytical skills.  

Our values and culture are important at Ovako and therefore your personal traits and cultural fit in this role will be important when assessing candidates. Formal requirements include; 

  • Academic degree, business or engineering related field 
  • Commercial experience (eg from field sales, account management, technical support) 
  • Experience from steel industry or related with proven senior level contract negotiations. 
  • Language skills (English, Swedish and/or German)

Practicalities and your application 

Your location is flexible, we prefer that you are located close to our customer in Germany. However the other option is that you can be located in Sweden but then frequent travel to Germany will be required.
